Platinum™ Technology
makes raising, lowering and adjusting window coverings is as simple as touching a
button, using the same remote control for PowerRise®, PowerTilt®, PowerGlide®
and hard-wired applications. This is a single remote control that works with all of these Hunter Douglas
brands:
• Silhouette® Window Shadings
• Vignette® Modern Roman Shades
• Luminette® Privacy Sheers
• Duette® Honeycomb Shades
• Brilliance™ Pleated Shades
• Country Woods® Wood Blinds
• EverWood Alternative Wood Blinds
• Modern Precious Metals™ Horizontal Blinds
Watch
this video for an overview of Platinum
Technology:
For Individual Shade or Blind Operation
Platinum Technology uses the familiar point and press line of sight operation, similar to what we have used on previous PowerRise shades and PowerTilt Blinds. The beam is more focused for precise operation. Two-channel operation is still available to provide individual control of adjacent or stacked window coverings
For Group Shade or Blind Control
Platinum Technology uses radio frequency to allow control of a selected group of window coverings that are either in or out of view. It will allow operation of up to four individual groups — or all groups at once.
This video shows how to operate shades and
blinds with Platinum Technology and how easy it is to program
groups for RF control:
Ready to Go Right Out Of The Box
As shown in the video, Platinum technology offers “point-and-press”
IR control to raise, lower or tilt window coverings, right out of the box. Programming groups can be accomplished easily in just seconds per blind or shade. It is available with the same specifications as the current PowerRise®, PowerGlide® and PowerTilt™ systems in Brilliance® pleated shades; Country Woods® wood blinds; Duette® honeycomb shades;EverWood® Collection alternative wood blinds; Luminette® Privacy Sheers; Modern Precious Metals® two-inch aluminum blinds; Silhouette® window shadings; and Vignette® Modern Roman Shades.
Updating
Existing PowerRise® and PowerGlide® Systems
Platinum technology can be used to retrofit any PowerRise® or PowerGlide® lifting system
made on or after May 1, 2003.
To
retrofit an existing system, the new remote
shown above and the new satellite eye, shown at
right are added to the system. The new remote, however, may be used to operate
ALL existing PowerRise and PowerGlide window coverings.
This sort of retrofit is not available for
horizontal blinds with the PowerTilt system.
This video shows how to upgrade an existing PowerRise or PowerGlide
system.
The
demonstration is performed on a
Duette honeycomb shade, but the technique is the
same for Silhouette with PowerRise and Luminette
with PowerGlide:
Platinum™ Technology For Hard-Wired Systems
By merging advanced technology and simplicity, Hunter Douglas Platinum™ Technology also delivers the ultimate in window covering control for hard-wired applications. The hard-wired option offers operation with just a touch of the designer wall switch and matching remote control. Installation? Simple. Programming? None. This is home automation at its best.
Home Automation
Platinum Technology may be easily integrated with new or existing home automation systems. The new integrated receiver technology built in to the wall switch
(shown at right) allows for shade operation using Hunter Douglas remote or with a programmable IR remote.
Order What You Need
Hard-wired Platinum Technology is now available for Duette® honeycomb shades; Silhouette® window shadings; and Vignette® Modern Roman Shades.
System components can be ordered a la carte. The new wall-mounted switch supports both infrared (IR) and radio frequency (RF) control. This single stand-alone switch unit replaces multiple components, control units etc. It
may be used to control up to two shade motors, though it is
strongly advised to have one switch per shade. The controller provides two customer-defined intermediate shade positions. Wiring is
easy to install and no programming is required.

final video summarizes all the products and
functions that can be used with Platinum
