What's This?

Keep A High Profile
At The Bottom
Of The Blind!

Little Things Can Make A Big Difference

It's hard to believe that something as simple as a well-designed bottom rail can make a blind so much better.  This unique rail radically improves both appearance and function.

In 2006, Hunter Douglas introduced a new high profile bottom rail specifically for EverWood® Blinds with LiteRise®.  The unique patented design, available only from Hunter Douglas provides inherent strength and rigidity.  So the blind looks good in any position from fully lowered to fully raised.  The naturally contoured shape makes it easy to grip and operate – eliminating the need for an add-on plastic handle. The design has recently been granted a design patent from the U.S. Patent and Trademark Office, ensuring its exclusivity to Hunter Douglas.

Improves Rotation & Closure

This bottom rail also improves rotation and closure when the shade is fully lowered for better privacy.  In a normal inside mount with a sill, the shape of this bottom rail allows the slats to fully tilt for ultimate privacy.  It also allows the blind to hold its position, recessed within the window.  Typical two-inch blinds have a clunky rectangular rail that, actually blocks rotation, prevents closure and even forces the blind forward in the window as the slats are tilted.

When slats are open, the high-profile bottom rail allows the blind to have a more finished and refined appearance.

When the slats are rotated, the high-profile bottom rail holds its position and allows the vanes to close tightly.

Note: The trapezoidal rail currently used with Everwood® products operates in a similar way, but the new high-profile rail makes it even better.

Expanding To Other EverWood® Collection Products

In addition to EverWood with LiteRise®, effective in the spring of 2007, this distinctive high−profile bottom rail will replace the trapezoidal rail as the standard rail for all EverWood®, EverWood® X−tra, and EverWood® CountrySide products. WoodMates® will continue to use the standard rectangular bottom rail.  This will be a running change that will be phased in as supplies become available.
