Wider Widths And New Options For Designer Screen Shades

Windows are getting wider, so shades are, too. Hunter Douglas Designer Screen Shades can now cover windows as large as
192" wide by 144" high.

This new wider width program utilizes two new tube sizes, 2 1/2" and 3" to accommodate the wider widths.  In addition, the roller tube can now be concealed either by an optional fascia or a pocket. Note that the fabric widths as found in the Hunter Douglas Reference Guidehave not changed. All fabrics for wider width shades, except Melbourne, Natures Elements, and Spice Rack, will be turned width for length and heat−sealed at the seam to achieve the greater drops. So fabric widths have not increased from existing sizes, only the shade widths have increased.

Optional Fascia or Pocket

A new optional fascia is available for shades up to 156" wide. The new fascia, shown at left with a motorized shade, is available in five colors: white, vanilla, bronze, anodized, and black. The fascia is an L-shaped aluminum extrusion that covers the top and bottom of the roller tube for a sleek, squared-off appearance.

The four-inch optional "pocket" is available in either white or anodized aluminum. It is a U-shaped extrusion that houses either standard clutch-operated or motorized roller screen shades. The pocket can be inside or outside the window framing or recessed into a ceiling or wall to completely conceal the roller tube.

The draw
ings below will help you to understand the difference between a fascia and a pocket to decide which is right for any particular situation.
