What's This?

Enhanced Operation
For Duette & Applause With LiteRise
®!

Recent changes have been made to the way honeycomb shades with the LiteRise Touch System.  As a result, you may notice some differences when operating LiteRise shades.

A Lighter Touch
The first thing you'll notice is that LiteRise shades have a different feel to the way the shade operates. Overall, the shade will operate more smoothly and will feel “lighter” when operated.  This lighter feel is a little deceptive.  It may cause you to wonder whether the shade is actually operating.  If you release the shade, you'll see that the moving rail will stop and hold at whatever position you choose.

Delayed Reaction
If the shade is raised quickly, there will be a slight delay in the tensioning of the cords. This is normal and not a quality problem with the shade.

Relax... And Try A Massage
The shade will now better hold its position…specifically, you should see no “drifting” or “creeping” of the moving rails once the fabric has been relaxed. When the shade is first installed, the shade has a "memory" of the being in the stacked position, so it has a natural tendency to try to return to that position until it is relaxed. You may notice that as a slight upward lift immediately after you lower the shade.  This is more pronounced in some fabric types. There are two ways to relax the fabric, first is to simply let it hang. Designer Blinds recommends that the shade hang in the fully extended position for 24 to 48 hours after installation to allow the fabric to relax. For more immediate results, try giving the shade's fabric a massage. To massage the fabric, first make sure both of your hands are clean. Then place one hand behind the fabric and one hand in front to massage the fabric gently in a rolling motion. The more fabric you reach with the massage, the more effective this technique will be.

Most fabrics (like most people) will relax immediately after a massage. It is till recommended to allow the shade to hang for an extended period afterwards.
