is available as an option.

Not Exactly The
Straight and Narrow
Path To Success!

With Hunter Douglas Vertical Blind
Specialty Systems
you'll want to

throw a few curves in along the way.

A Great Way To Handle All Sorts Of Shapes and Sizes

The revolutionary specialty track system used by Hunter Douglas for vertical blind specialty shapes will allow you to do dramatic things with arched windows, bay windows, bow windows and all kinds of angles and curves.  Better still, most of these specialty systems are fully operational —vane rotation and traversing.  In fact, both rotation and traversing can be controlled by motorization in most applications.  You can choose from the full collection of Hunter Douglas vertical blinds including Cadence™ and the new Crosswinds™ wood vertical blinds.

In coming tips we'll explore some of the measuring, specifying and installation details of the various options.  But for this week, lets just focus on what can be done and explore the range of options available.

“Corner” The Market On Bay Windows

This is a great application for bay or bow windows.  With other products you'll have to configure a different treatment for each window each with its own controls. Then you have to figure out which side of each treatment to put the controls on with out getting them in a tangle. After that, you'll need to figure out exactly how to juxtapose the headrails without leaving too much gap.

This is a practical application for bay or bow windows that your customers will love.  From one place you can rotate all of the vanes on all of the windows in unison.  You can traverse the vanes to one or both sides of the window as well.  Motorization is available for both functions and can be operated by wall switch or infrared remote control.

The Sky Is The Limit!

When you are covering skylights, vertical blinds probably aren't the first thing you think of, but they are a practical application and offer very good light control with full 180° rotation on a double track system.  They'll help to protect your furnishings and reduce glare.

Arches & Palladian Arches

Vertical blinds can be an excellent way to achieve a great look and operability in arch windows.  Full 180° rotation provides superior light control and excellent closure.

Arched vertical blinds do traverse, but because the vanes in the center are necessarily longer than those toward either side, a center stack is required

You've Got All The Angles!

A-Frames, triangles, slopes and angles of all kinds are available with full function.  Even at sharp angles of up to 55°, the vanes won't slip due to the exclusive cordlock system.

It's Time To Stray from The Straight And Narrow...

With this unique system, you can count on having truly happy customers.  More often than not, your competitors will ignore these options, so when you present them to your customers it will be as if you have something they don't have —and you do!  Keep watching Tip of the Week for more about these systems, but get started selling them right away and get off that straight and narrow path!
